Strengthening Participatory Local Governance (2018-2019)
The overall objective of the project is to strengthen local governments and rights based CSOs so that they can contribute to improved governance, accountability and governance processes at local, sub-national and national level in Pakistan.
It has three objectives:
- Strengthening coordination and networking between different tiers of local governments, between the local governments and the provincial authorities, and between the local governments and CSOs to improving the demand side by creating awareness amongst the target population to demand efficient and quality services and participate in decisions.
- Develop coordination and consensus amongst the LGs and sub national government to influence required policy change and on issues such as release of timely resources to the local governments for effective planning and also engage the Sub-national CSO networks.
- Sharing good practices and lessons learned with various CSO networks to create a multiplier effect and advocate at various levels including the national parliamentarians elected from these districts; hence creating a momentum that can affect a more cohesive effort towards affecting local governance.

Creating Spaces - To Take Action on Violence against Women and Girls (2017-2019)
Creating Spaces project is the continuation of mutual trust and cooperation between Aurat Foundation and OXFAM in Pakistan with the financial support of Global Affairs Canada. It has three outcomes:
- Active engagement of community leaders (including religious, private sector, and political leaders) and youth (both girls and boys) in advancing women’s rights, women’s leadership and the elimination of violence against women and girls by building their capacity.
- Ensure that women and girls who have been affected by violence and child, early and forced marriage are able to ensure their long-term well-being by accessing support services, such as safe spaces (shelters), and psycho-social support, as well as economic opportunities.
Support strategic linkages, national and regional alliances and innovative knowledge and accountability systems that advance the rights of women and girls. |

Strengthening provincial Assemblies- SUBAI (2017-2019)
To advance the functioning of Pakistan parliamentary institution, in particular Pakistan provincial assemblies, through effective legislation, strengthened policy and budget oversight and enhanced representation. It has three results:
Result 1: Strengthened institutional development process and framework of assemblies and better equipped elected representatives, selected committees and other parliamentary bodies at provincial level;
Result 2: Strengthened assemblies' secretariats at provincial level;
Result 3: Improved transparency and accessibility of provincial assemblies. |

Need Assessment and Implementation of Technical Capacity Building and Upgradation of Identified Dar ul Amans (DUAs)/Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Crisis Cells (2018-2020)
Aurat Foundation with support of UN Women is gaining to undertake a thorough needs assessment of 7 identified Dar ul Amans/ SBBCs, including physical as well as technical needs and to implement the capacity building and upgradation of those
Shelters accordingly. The project objectives are:
- A comprehensive needs assessment
- Prepare an implementation plan for technical capacity building
- To provide a plan of recommendations for refurbishment/ upgradation
Implement the refurbishment in order to bring the identified DUAs/ SBBCs in line with the guidelines/ minimum standards for shelters and good practices. |

Gender Equity Program - GEP (2010-2017). It is a grant-making programme being implemented in collaboration with the Asia Foundation, funded by USAID. It will extend over 400 grants to civil society organizations and governmental gender entities. It has four key objectives:
i) women’s access to justice and human rights
ii) women’s economic empowerment
iii) combating gender-based violence and iv) capacity-building of Pakistani organizations. |

AAWAZ Voice and Accountability Programme (2012-2017). AAWAZ is a five-year programme to strengthen democratic processes in Pakistan by making it more open, inclusive and accountable to citizens. It is funded by DFID and managed by DAI. The programme will be implemented in 45 districts across Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provinces by Aurat Foundation, SAP-Pk, SPO and Sungi Development Foundation. |

Policy and Data Monitor on Violence against Women - PDM-VAW (2011-2016): Under the project funded by Trocaire, AF monitors and documents incidents of violence against women and; works towards pushing them higher in priority on the agendas of major political parties and decision-making bodies. |

Leverage in social transformation of elected nominees - LISTEN (July 2013- June 2017): leverage in social transformation of elected nominees project aims to promote active citizenship among 1200 women and youth in 30 targeted districts by building their capacities to strengthen women voices through dialogue and engagement with, and oversight of the elected provincial and national assembly representatives till 2017.
The current proposed intervention is also a step ahead towards appraisal of elected leaders and promoting watchful and vigilant follow up of the women and men voters on the performance of their elected leaders in the event of community demands.
This project is implementing in the 30 districts of Pakistan i.e. 15 districts of Punjab, 9 districts of Sindh, 3 districts of KP and 3 districts of Balochistan. |

Institutional Capacity Strengthening of Women Development Department, Punjab (September 2015 – March 2016): This project is designed to facilitate a process that leads to women empowerment while exploring the possible modes for carrying out some reinforcing initiatives to collaborate with the Women Development Department of Government of Punjab. It is funded by Oxfam Pakistan.
Project illustrative activities include: situational analysis and need assessment on capacity building needs, develop road map-women empowerment initiative 2016, implementation strategy for WDD, provision of human resources and institutional capacity / resources for WDD, training at district level of relevant institutions to strengthen existing mechanism in Muzafargarh district. |
